The boolean operator of exclusion (-) permits to exclude a terms from a research.
The Boolean exclusion operator (-) allows you to exclude a term or expression from your document search. The documents including this term will then be excluded from the results obtained. This operator helps to specify an information search by limiting the documents retrieved and thus limits the noise. It is very restrictive, but it may tend to reduce the appearance of weak signals in the results obtained.
CAUTION when writing your query, be sure to respect the following points:
- The Boolean of exclusion is done with the dash of the key 6 of your keyboard
- There is no space between the - and the term to exclude, whether or not the latter is between quotation marks
- It is possible to chain several exclusions (example: 6G - "Nokia" - "Huawei")
- This operator can be associated with other boolean operators such as site: or intitle:
