The different filters available on Geotrend

In order to go through the information resulting from your research, Geotrend allows you to filter the different views.

Accessing the filters

Several filters exist and can be applied to each of the views proposed by the platform, with the aim of improving the exploration of the information obtained.
To access the different filters click on in the filter bar.

By default, Geotrend offers you direct access to the most commonly used filters in the filter bar (Relationship, Country, Actor) without having to go through "All filters".

You can customize the filters you want to have on hand by going to "My account" and selecting your favorite filters in the "Favorite filters" section.

To configure your space, please refer to the article: "Setting up your account"

  • The "Relevance" filter allows you to refine or expand the information related to your search
  • The "Currencies" filter presents the currencies mentioned in the articles
  • The "Figure amounts" filter presents the financial values mentioned in the articles
  • The "Favorites" filter shows the documents you have saved
  • The "Date mentioned" filter shows the dates mentioned in the articles
  • The "Publication date" filter shows the publication or update dates of the articles
  • The "Relationship" filter shows the types of relationship between the different actors
  • The "Entity" filter shows the actors related to your search
  • The "Keyword" filter shows the main keywords
  • The "Domain" filter shows the domain names found by Geotrend
  • The "Country" filter shows the countries mentioned in the articles
  • The "Type of entity" filter shows the types of actors available for your search

Also use the "search" bar by typing a word related to the activated filter in order to search for the term within the articles and bring up the relevant information.

Interaction between filters

The selection of several entities within the same filter presents all the information containing all the selected entities.

For example, in the "Actor" filter, if I select Actor A and Actor B, I will see all the information related to A, all the information related to B and all the information common to A and B.

Conversely, when you apply several filters of different types, only the information common to the different filters will be displayed.

For example, if I select the actor Geotrend in my "Actor" filter and France in my "Country" filter, this will only display the information specific to Geotrend in France.

Exclude one or more items from a filter

For each multiple choice filter, you have the possibility to use the "Select All" present in the first line when a filter is scrolled. This allows you to section all the lines of the filter.

Search in a filter

The "Relationship", "Actor", "Country", "Keyword" and "Domain" filters, when scrolled down, also present a search bar where you can type your term directly.

Thanks to the different views of Geotrend you can easily visualize the effect of the selected filters.
